The return of Gregg’s character only further confirms the presence of S.H.I.E.L.D. throughout the overarching Marvel movie narrative — a common line likely to culminate in the superhero team-up film “The Avengers.”

Personally, this is great to see.  The more crossover (and involvment of S.H.I.E.L.D.) throughout the franchise, the better I think the movies will tie together.  Will be interesting to see if in the Captain America movie they get him in that as well, especially since it’s been rumored that it will be the origin story, set back in WW2 times.
